Do You Have a Favorite Word?
Well, I have two!
I think I am officially ready to declare my second-favorite word to be “shenanigans”.
Hee. I love the way it rolls off one’s tongue. Just saying it amuses me.
And I love all that it implies. To me, “shenanigans” indicates definite trickery. And up-to-no-good-ness. But nothing truly untoward or distressing in a larger sense. We’re not talking “foul play” or even “waywardness”. Just “shenanigans”.
And of course I love engaging in shenanigans. I’ve even become enamored of the idea of introducing myself in group settings by saying, “Hi. I’m OleNelson. And my second-favorite word is ‘shenanigans’.” Also good would be throwing a party someday whose tagline was “Anticipate Shenanigans”.
Oh, and in case these was any doubt, my first-favorite word is, for now and for all time, “strategery”.

shenanigans? really? I thought your favorite word was "hee."
Along the same lines, I am particularly fond of "tomfoolery". Highly underused!
My favorite word...or really, set of words...is "pickle relish"--it's like a little whole mouth party dancing around in there.
And it's very hard to be unhappy when you're saying "pickle relish"---I've tried...couldn't do it.
My least favorite word, incidentally, is "slacks".... polyesterdoubleknit elasticbandwaistbellbottoms ...that's what they are.
*shudder*
:D
I agree on the "slacks" issue. And the only problem with "pickle relish" is that it brings up notions of actually EATING pickle relish. Which, gross.
"Fritter"—and it’s so useful!

I think you need to revive your blog with the Tale of Tie Guy.
